“Believing the Bible is more than acquiring theological information. It is living under its authority and being transformed by the sufficiency of God’s promises regardless of the critics or trials we may face.”

It has been suggested that Jeff LaBorg’s preaching can be controversial. But one thing is for sure, his preaching is never unclear or compromising. Jeff is loved and hated, respected and reviled for his commitment to God’s infallible, inerrant and inspired Word.

Pastor Jeff will tell you that his greatest battles and most ardent critics are not those found in the secular world blinded by the god of this age but those that make up the religious ranks wilfully blinded by the traditions of men that nullify the Word of God.

A leading pastor and mentor in Jeff’s life has made the following observation concerning Jeff’s passion in preaching and the cost associated with his unwillingness to recant or retreat from the conviction that the Bible is infallible, inerrant, inspired, sufficient and the final authority.

Some want to put Jeff LaBorg in a box. They want to pin a label on him that will define him, demean him or reduce him to a denominational definition. He’s called a fundamentalist by those who disagree with his doctrinal positions. He’s called a charismatic by those who disagree with his faith that God still does the impossible and miraculous. He’s called a legalist by those who disagree with his Biblical convictions for holiness. Here’s what I do know about Jeff LaBorg . . . he has never compromised Biblically, ethically or morally regardless of the controversy or personal cost.

Jeff LaBorg is first and foremost a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ. His entire ministry has been spent as a licensed and ordained Southern Baptist pastor and he has spent his entire ministry loving and leading Southern Baptists churches.

Pastor Jeff’s first and final authority is the Bible, God’s Holy Word. For the purpose of pastoral ministry and a doctrinal statement, Pastor Jeff embraces, teaches and operates under the statement of faith found in the Baptist Faith and Message as adopted in the year 2000 which can be found at the following website http://www.sbc.net/bfm2000/bfm2000.asp
